Passenger car tires would have the starting sidewall information letter as P and LT would indicate a tire meant for light trucks
The next figure would give you the width of the tire in millimeters, which is the width from sidewall to sidewall when the tire is fitted on the wheel.
Figures next in order are the aspect ratio, which tells you the ratio between the height and width of the tire. This height is the actually the distance between the rim that sits on the wheel and the outer surface of the tire.
